The Power Strap features Booster technology for enhanced power with reduced pressure on the shin and progressive impulse transmission. The shell contains an over-injected carbon insert which improves impulse transmission to the skis, giving greater precision. SUSTAINABILITY: the shell and cuff are made from Grilamid Bio, produced from renewable, plant-based sources. The men’s and women’s 4-Quattro SL is made with plant-based Pebax R-new and offers a flex index of 120 for men and 100 for women, with weights of 1,430 grams (27) and 1290 grams (25). SOLE: the Presa® SKI-01 sole has an ergonomic design that guarantees excellent grip when walking, and is compatible with GripWalk certified downhill or ski touring bindings. To get the most from your ski boots, we recommend thermoforming the liners at one of the thermoformers who are part of the SCARPA network. Large range of motion, easy on and off, comfy liner, grippy soles, stiff flex but can be forgiving if kept not so tight on the buckles, warm, light. This construction allows for the fit and precision of a classic overlap ski boot construction, while allowing easier entry into the boot, and also enables excellent transmission of impulses when turning and unparalleled control. A low stand height and flex index of 130 provide incredible impulse transmission and performance, making this boot ideal for expert skiers.ĬONSTRUCTION: the new Alpine Axial Hybrid construction consists of a tongue and strap combination connected on the medial side of the shell, which provides a precise fit at the midfoot and the ball of the foot, and accommodates a wide variety of foot types and sizes. Compatibility: Maestrale RS is compatible with all types of ski touring bindings, providing optimal performance when paired with 85-110mm wide skis. With my standard downhill buckle setup (powerstrap relatively loose, top buckle at notch 4, ankle buckle cranked down, and Z buckle undone), the new Maestrale RS feels like an alpine 110-120 flex. Sensitivity, precision and sustainability come together in the 4-QUATTRO XT to make it the perfect all-day boot, both on and off piste. Compared to true 130-flex alpine boots, the new Maestrale RS is definitely softer (but remember, the Maestrale is much lighter than those alpine boots). Obviously Scarpa feels this adds to the performance of the boot and all evidence seems to support their theory (idea being that the lower part of the tongue is solidly anchored to the boot shoe, rather than floating in a small tab at the toe). The 4-QUATTRO XT is a light weight yet powerful ski boot, compatible with GripWalk bindings for both downhill skiing and ski touring.
